Meet Sencillo, a London fintech that wants to make school fees less terrifying. Founders Adam Amos (ex Pigzbe, EY) and Matthew Powell have raised a bit over $460K in pre-seed funding led by Fuel Ventures 🚀, with angel backing from executives at PensionBee UK, Premium Credit Ltd, and the London Stock Exchange.
UK families now spend roughly $5K to $20K per year on early years childcare, $25K to $66K on private schooling, and around $30K a year on university, once you include living costs. For most parents, that journey is fragmented, confusing, and stressful.
Sencillo's app forecasts those costs from nursery to university, helps parents map savings, family contributions, and gifts, and plugs into a credit marketplace so approved lenders can pay fees straight to nurseries, schools, and universities.
The product combines smart calculators, planning dashboards, and responsible lending and savings products to give families one clear view of their child's whole education journey.
With fees rising faster than inflation, an end-to-end planning and finance layer feels overdue. If Sencillo executes, it could easily become the Mint of education.
